My Connected Home LLC has been working on an exciting total home automation project for Kevin.

Kevin is physically challenged, utilizing a motorized wheelchair.  He is building a new home (construction to start Spring 2006) and has requested to be able to control most electronics in the home from a touchscreen mounted on his wheelchair.

My Connected Home is designing, programming and installing a system that will allow Kevin to control all the following from either a wireless touchscreen  or by a voice recognition headset:

¨ Alarm System with voice annunciation (HAI)

¨ HVAC (Omnistat)

¨ Scene Lighting (Leviton DHC)

¨ Ceiling Fans (Leviton DHC)

¨ AV Components (RS232 and IR control)

¨ Distributed Audio/Video System—6 Source x 6 Zone (vendor tbd; ELAN  in-ceiling speakers)

¨ Video Surveillance (Panasonic webcams)

¨ Automated Doors

¨ PC Audio Jukebox (vendor tbd)

¨ Telephone Wireless Headset with voice recognition dialing (SAJE Tech Communicator)

The control system is HomeSeer that runs on a dedicated PC server.  Control screens are browser-based and available on all PCs in the home in addition to the wireless touchscreen.  Communications utilizes structured wiring (OnQ) also installed by My Connected Home.

As the project progresses, we will post pictures on this site.
